Knocked flat by tooth pain

Sorry I haven't been around this week, I'm having a problem with my tooth. It has an abcess which has just cause an unbelievable amount of discomfort and pain. My jaw hurts, my neck is swollen, I can't turn my head to the right. Yuck! It started slow....a little ache Thursday night, Friday it was "I must have a cavity". By Saturday night I could barely eat....Sunday I couldn't even chew on the other side of my mouth, and Monday brought full blown panic when my jaw started to swell! Off to  the dentist on Tuesday to find out it is infected and get pumped full of antibiotics and pain meds. *sigh* Of course, the world doesn't stop for my busted tooth and I sold my soul to the devil for Tuesday off so I could see the dentist......which gave me a double shift Wednesday. UGH! This was my lunch Wednesday:

thirty one bag

At least the lunch tote is cute, right? (it's from Thirty-one) I would love to eat mashed potatoes and ice cream as everyone is recommending, but I can't open my mouth wide enough to fit a spoon in! Have you ever tried drinking yogurt through a straw? Not easy! LOL

So, really...what it is about dental pain that stops us in our tracks? Other then the obvious can't eat issue. Why is it that I could function through my bad back and bum knee, but the brain fog that accompanies this is making me want to sit on the couch and do nothing? Thank heavens it's been beautiful out and I've been able to just sit and watch the chickens play. Chicken TV always cheers me up! I watch the chickens and think about garden planting and flowers and spring. I'm so glad spring is finally here!

I have a root canal scheduled for next Tuesday, but since the infection is subsiding I am almost back to normal.....and feeling like sitting in front of my computer again. Yeay! I hope you are all having a great week....and I'll post regular stuff soon!

  1. Bless your little mouth, how awful! I'll say a prayer for you tonight.

Something that might help a bit is to rinse your mouth with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide after brushing.
